Leadership transitions are among the highest-stakes decisions an organisation makes — and among the least tracked. Most companies have strong onboarding systems. Far fewer have a deliberate approach to integration: the slower, structural work of a leader actually becoming trusted, correctly read, and included in how real decisions get made.
That gap is what this publication is for. Not theory — what's actually happening inside the transitions you're already managing: internal moves, external hires, succession gaps, restructures, board or executive leadership changes, and the newer shift AI is bringing to how roles themselves are defined, and what is often missed by organisations until the cost gets too glaring to ignore.
This gap isn't abstract to me.
Twenty years inside senior leadership before I ever coached anyone — including a decade leading teams through a reputation- and relationship-driven luxury industry, where a misstep is expensive and visible.
I know what a transition feels like from inside it, because I navigated them on my own — making mistakes, with no playbook or integration support beyond the logistical, introductory kind. Always on my toes, sleuthing for signals on what was landing and what wasn't. No real-time feedback. No real-time pattern-spotting.
That's what makes it easy to catch the drift early in someone else — and why I advocate for integration support built in from month zero, the moment a hire is finalised, not once something's already visibly off track.
Three hundred leaders and ten CHROs have sat across from me in this work — across financial services, pharma, management consulting, and luxury.
Each piece I write about is drawn from pattern recognition — two decades in corporate leadership, my own transition experience, and coaching over 300 leaders across senior transitions and beyond.
If you are subscribed, you will receive new issues as they're published. If you are not, you can access the thought articles anytime by visiting this site. If something here is useful, or if it doesn't quite match what you're seeing in your own organisation, please reply directly or leave a comment — I read and respond to every response.
Every response, every insight expands what I'm able to see and write about. And if something feels worth a conversation over coffee, message me, and I’ll be happy to connect in person if you are in Singapore. Your coffee's on me.
